Speech Bubble Issues

I’m still towards the beginning of the game, but when first encountering the spitting, flying plant enemy, Frogatto exclaims something along the lines of, “Wow! A flying plant! Interesting.” The only problem is, when he finished saying this for me, he began saying it again. And again. Indefinitely. I tried to continue through the game to find more dialogue, but apparently new speech bubbles don’t supersede old ones; they just cover up the other object. Thus, even after conversing with another character, the speech bubbles remain. I attempted to save and reload my file, but it would appear that the room as it stands is just resumed, as the speech bubble is still there. It’s rather obnoxious, and makes the game difficult to play.

after a bit of examining the (very clean mind you thumbs up) save file format, a temporary fix for those suffering from the issue involves opening up your save, scrolling down to the [character] section that includes the triggered_events table (you’ll know it’s the right one because if you’ve played for a while with the speech bubble running, the table will have hundreds of items called ‘helicopter_plant_dialog’. Once your their, look up a bit to see the variable “on_process” (no quotes). Delete EVERYTHING that on_process = to and replace it with “null()” (include the quotes).

Sorry if thats a bit confusing but it’s pretty much a play by play on how I fixed mine…

Thanks for the bug reports – I’ve fixed this bug in our latest code base and the fix will appear in the next version.

For now the workaround you describe will work fine…
