Sound Effect request thread

#1

I’ve a few request I need to catch up on. Post them here!

Here are a few new effects

http://www.allacrost.org/staff/user/rain/FrogJump.wav > General Jump sound effect. This could actually be a sound effect for when you bounce on an enemy. Don’t know how annoying that would be.//

Here is some new sfx for an underground river.

;D Sounds great; the echoey reflections really make this worthwhile, since all the other ones tend to feel like they’re outside. I’ve uploaded this into the game.

As a heads up, to make this work as a loop, someone has to ensure that there isn’t a lead-in of silence. I’ve underlined it in pink, here - a gap like this can’t be at the start of a loop, or every 20 seconds, there’s going to be a hiccup. I’ve fixed this for this sound, just keep an eye on it in the future.

Thanks for the heads up. It should’ve had no pause at all. Hmm. I didn’t leave any space in the mix for a hiccup. Must’ve had something to do with bouncing it to disc that caused it to space it out.

Hmm, can we have a sfx for the spitting flower when it pops back up from its calyx?
Perhaps a cork popping sound would work well ;D
This is the guy I’m talking about:

Yeah, bouncing to disk can do that. :-\

The sound of a cork can be mighty powerful. Maybe we could use leaf the rustle sound effects I worked on a bit ago to suggest the pop up. Kind of in the same way the plantchildren from Ocarina of time might make the same noise doing a similar action. I am trying to be gentle with the sound effects.

It indeed can be quite a loud noise…
Was thinking of something like this:

Lol what an adorable sound effect!

Some tactile cues that don’t have effects:

  • milgram-bunnies throwing a steelball. Could maybe use a “baseball bat swing” sound - should be heavy sounding, buff.

  • squirrels throwing a nut. Might be the exact same idea, but dainty and light.

  • fumpers jumping. Not landing, but the muscular pop/“squitch” of jumping. Might be the momentary scuff of their feet on the ground.

  • ants landing after falling.

  • the sound of ant wings ripping (a light plastic crumble? Paper rip?)

  • several different wing-flap fx - some light ones that might work for ants, some big ones for owls.

  • several sounds of earthy, soft organic objects impacting (think large clumps of dirt hitting the ground, or rocks falling on soil)

  • the sound of frogatto walking on metal catwalk type structures.

  • the sound of frogatto walking on flat cement (think flat feet flapping against cement; he doesn’t wear shoes)

I think I literally had this same shit happen with our new torch.ogg.
