Problem with characters dialogs

#1

Hi I have a problem with characters dialogs. Everytime I press the action button (it doesn’t lead to next text), it cuts off the whole conversation to the end. With keyboard it seems there are any problems.

When I press on gamepad the action button it shows in terminal.

set speaker... set speaker set speaker... set speaker set speaker... set speaker set speaker... set speaker

but keyboard any key and conversation goes fluently

I hope you undestand what I mean. I look foward to reply with any solution or help.

btw. I use Linux 64 bit

This is a general problem with gamepad input - will hopefully be fixed in the next release.

Well, this is still an issue. I’m on Linux x86_64 as well. Symptoms aren’t different: when I tap button0 or button10 on my gamepad just once the game skips all the dialog. Any other button (including attack and jump buttons) does nothing in dialogs.

Alright, I know and respect your priorities and time, but seriously, this way you just can’t enjoy Frogetto on your gamepad ? I’ve tried, but no. I’ve had to either skip all dialogs or get to keyboard just to press enter a couple of times.

I can give you as much information about this as I can, just let me know what exactly do you need. And thanks for your efforts!

Well have you tried 1.0.2? It should be fixed in it. But there aren’t any Linux packages that we know of (none of us know how to make them).

#5

Yes, I’ve tried 1.0.2, my experience is solely based on that version.

Well, I don’t think you have to worry about any linux packages. As soon as you just release game’s source code, there will be people willing to pack it for their favorite Linux distribution.

It is released, and has been for years… or at least year. ::slight_smile: Frogatto has been open source from close to the beginning.

If you see any of those packagey people around, let us know.

Anyway, there are packages for various distributions here and there, thus there are people who do them as well (:

For example:
http://www.archlinux.org/packages/?sort=&arch=&repo=&q=frogatto&maintainer=&last_update=&flagged=&limit=50 (Arch)
Gentoo has Frogatto in games-arcade overlay here: http://gpo.zugaina.org/games-arcade/frogatto
http://www.frogatto.com/forum/index.php?topic=20.0 (that forum seems familiar…)
http://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=frogatto (and that’s conservative Debian, mind you)

I’m packagey person myself, but I guess I’m late, because Frogatto is already in my favorite Linux distribution (which is Arch).
