Graphics problems on Windows 7

I downloaded Frogatto earlier today and hoped to enjoy it but I’ve found the game to be unplayable due to some major graphics problems.
Here are some screenshots from my game for you.

Am I the only person with this problem?

That used to happen for me in my Virtual Machine, but with an update to the VM software it started working fine… Which leads me to think it’s an OpenGL driver issue. You could try the development build that’s also available on the download page. I doubt it would work better, but it’s possible.

What kind of computer is this on?

I have the SAME EXACT problem. Windows 7 64-bit HP laptop. Can’t test :’( makes me want to cry.

same problem here - runs just fine except for crazy graphics issues that essentially render the game completely unplayable, which is sad because it looks so fun

just updated all my graphics drivers, no luck, and the DB also has the same issue. Windows 7 64-bit, frogatto 1.3, ATI Radeon HD 3400 series

Same here, just heard about this game only to find I can’t see the awesome graphics I’ve seen on youtube.
I’ve attached a pic from the house hope its helpful. Music and sound effects are working good, it’s just the graphics that is acting up.

I have the same problem. I am using Win7 64 bits under AMD Athlon II x2 245, chipset nvidia onboard.
How to solve this problem? Any idea? Thanks!

I think I have found the problem under Win7. Looking at the stderr file I found the following info at the end:

IMAGE SIZE: 41600
128KB TEXTURE statusbar.png: 400x104
Failed loading mikmod.dll: The specified module could not be found.

invalid operation

I have downloaded mikmod.dll and put it under system32. The game still renders with the graphics problems shown in the past posts.

Looking at the stderr file again I found:

Any help from the developers? Thanks!

Huh, looks like I forgot to include mikmod.dll in the package… But it also looks like it doesn’t matter, so I’m not sure if I even should. However, that “invalid operation” part is interesting, and I’m gonna look into that.

If any of you could try running the game with the --potonly option and see if that fixes it, that would be great. I think the easiest way to do this is to make a shortcut of Frogatto, then right-click on it, go to Properties, and in the editable part that has the path to Frogatto, add " --potonly" (so it would be something like “C:…\Frogatto.exe --potonly”; the … being a placeholder for the rest of the path). I have a theory that’s the problem, and I could definitely be wrong, but I think it’s worth a shot.

Hi, I tried the --potonly option but it doesn’t work, Game is still unplayable due to graphics errors. This is the stderr output:

Ok, thanks for trying. Another thing to try is --compiled - I’m curious if that changes anything for you. Also, if you could paste the FIRST part of stderr.txt when you run without --potonly, specifically all the OpenGL lines, that would be great.

Ok, I will try tonight at home and I’ll put all the sterr output here, just a question: I have mikmod.dll under system32 folder, is it necessary ?
I have deleted the mikmod.dll and tried with the --potonly option too with same results.

I am a software developer so if you need more specific tests you can ask me for them, just tell me what to do and I send you the reports.

Well,I’m glad to help us. I dont have a video card, it’s only video onboard, my motherboard’s chipset is NVIDIA? MCP61P (6150SE), I have installed Win7 64 bits version.
Tonight I will see if there is a way to activate more OpenGL extensions.
