Can't get golden ant in the cage?

I don’t know if this is a bug, or what. I’ve brought to Mortimer’s house what I believe to be a golden ant (it’s got a sort of golden crown, it was flying in the previous level or so). I can’t find a way to get it in the cage: is it the wrong ant, is there a special way to get it in, or is it a bug?

That’s a flying platform ant. It has a platform on top you can sit on, not a crown.
I also had difficulty telling orange and gold ants apart.

Yeah that looks orange. I know orange is even orangyer, but it’s bad.

Does anyone know how to move in the water with the ant in the mouth? I just sink like a brick and can’t move or swim. Thanks in advance.

Finally found a golden ant at Bon Bosque portal. That quest gave me a full heart capsule.

I wonder if it shouldn’t be recolored to be more yellow, or given a crown, or some other distinguishing mark.

To tell the truth,
I didn’t do the golden ant quest
Instead I went straight to the village.
